Emotions are a tricky business. Especially if you're in the 'self-help' space. One person is telling you to not associate with them, rise above them, and remain cool as a cucumber. Then another person is telling you to savor your emotions and coddle with them like your favorite stuffed animal.
So, what's a sensitive hustler to do? You know you're emotional. But, you also got shit to do and goals to reach.
How do you know if your emotion is just a triggered fear response you need to override or a sincere feeling you need to sit with and process?
I have no clue. But, I do know what's worked for me. And that's what I'm sharing with you today. :)
For me.....I put the feeling in one of two buckets. Is it BAD or is it SAD.
Bad = anxiety, fear response, reaction to me making growth in some area, needs to be viewed as such so I can choose my vision instead. Cue jumping jacks, pattern interrupts, and all kinds of crazy mantras.
Sad = sincere, usually old wounds coming to the surface to heal, needs to be felt and acknowledged or it will just keep popping back up.
It's not ALWAYS an easy distinction. Sometimes its messy. But also beautiful. Just like emotions. EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE is sexy as hell. And it strengthens the relationship you have with yourself and can accelerate your personal growth. So stop running from it. TAP IN.
